Another Month Gone

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

It’s hard to believe that we’re already at the end of April … it seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating the new year. It’s certainly been a great month here with plenty of activity in the cafe and on the water and I doubt that things are going to slow down all that much for us between now and when whale watching season starts in July.

In autumn and early winter the weather here in Hervey Bay is usually glorious and the long-range weather forecast is certainly looking good so now is definitely the time to come up to Hervey Bay and escape those cold winter days in the southern states.

Just the other day the maximum in one of the country towns in New South Wales where I once worked only reached 10 degrees Celsius while up here it was a balmy 27 degrees. Now you know why so many people want come to spend winter in Hervey Bay. Â

One final thing I have to do here on the blog before April slips away is to introduce our employee of the month. We’d like you to meet Kathy.

Kathy has been part of the cafe team here at Aquavue for quite some time now and when big groups arrive unexpectedly she’s the one who can take it all in her stride.

A Fantastic Weekend

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Wow what a fantastic weekend! If you weren’t on the beach in Hervey Bay then you were definitely missing out because the weather here was just wonderful.

Here in Australia it was a long weekend that started on Friday and on every day we had tours to Fraser Island, plenty of jet ski hires, bike hires and even the catamaran went out for a sail.

If you’re not big on crowds then right through into May is the best time to come up and spend some time relaxing at Aquavue and enjoying the beach because the weather will be wonderful and the crowds won’t be back till whale watching season starts in July.

And just to give you a peak of what you’re missing out on:

Busy Times at Aquavue

Friday, April 25th, 2008

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost three weeks since I last had a chance to sit down and add a few lines here but it is.

Since Easter Hervey Bay has slipped into that quiet time that always comes at this time of year. It’s the time that we can all collectively catch our breath before whale watching season starts in July and there’s no doubt that the town in general has been quiet.

Here at Aquavue though it’s just been crazy with plenty of jet ski tours to Fraser Island, fishing boat hires and lots of people enjoying coffee and the view from the cafe. One view that not many people get to see is this one – sunrise over Fraser Island.

This really is a great time of year to visit Hervey Bay. Off-peak rates, plenty of great accommodation and stunning mornings like this one are just standard fare right now :)
