Last time I was here I showed you some photos of some of the jet ski fun you can have when you hire a jet ski from us here at Aquavue Hervey Bay.

This time I want to show you some video we shot early last year of some jet ski action out in the bay.

And I’d also like to show you the latest addition to our jet ski fleet. It’s a new Yamaha Wave Runner and it’s fast!

With the weather warming up here in Hervey Bay we’re reaching the stage where there’s going to be a lot more interest in the jet ski hire side of our business here at Aquavue. Our jet ski hire is really very popular but we do get some people who wonder just what they can do with out jet skis.

Well firstly let me say that if you hire a jet ski from us you will be required to operate within a set area. While no marine licence is required you will receive all the instructions you need to safely operate on of our jet skis. As part of those instructions you will be shown the area where you can play and once you reach that designated area then you can get out and tear up the water just like these two are doing.

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost three weeks since I last had a chance to sit down and add a few lines here but it is.

Since Easter Hervey Bay has slipped into that quiet time that always comes at this time of year. It’s the time that we can all collectively catch our breath before whale watching season starts in July and there’s no doubt that the town in general has been quiet.

Here at Aquavue though it’s just been crazy with plenty of jet ski tours to Fraser Island, fishing boat hires and lots of people enjoying coffee and the view from the cafe. One view that not many people get to see is this one - sunrise over Fraser Island.

This really is a great time of year to visit Hervey Bay. Off-peak rates, plenty of great accommodation and stunning mornings like this one are just standard fare right now

Easter is upon us and the weather forecast for Hervey Bay is looking to be not too bad. The temperatures are certainly going to be high enough to make a trip down to the beach in Hervey Bay a great idea.

It’s also a great time to have some fun out on the water and there’s no better way to do that than hiring a jet ski from here at Aquavue. You won’t need a licence and we supply all the safety gear you will need. So come on down and see just how much fun you can have on one of our adrenalin machines. Even if you can’t handle that much excitement you can still enjoy a great time at Aquavue with the best coffee and best view in town. We’ll be open from 7am every day during Easter.

I’m sure a lot of Hervey Bay residents woke up this morning and wondered what that bright light in the sky was. It seems like it’s been ages since we’ve seen the sun and after two weeks of wet and overcast days I’m sure that we were all hanging out to see a sunny day once more.

Actually we had a bit of sun yesterday afternoon too as you can see from this photo taken from our webcam.

But whether it’s fine and sunny or overcast and raining people still want to get out and have fun on the water and yesterday the catarmaran and jet skis from our Beach Hire section were popular and today has been the same.

So don’t let a few clouds put you off, come on down had have some fun in the water with our jet skis and catamaran or just kick back and have the best coffee in town. Even if it’s raining the cafe is still open because we’ve got plenty of seating under cover.

I can’t believe that it’s nearly two weeks since I last posted here … where did all that time go?

I actually do know where all the time went … this has been a busy time for us here at Aquavue and not only in the cafe part of the business. Even though it’s winter here in Hervey Bay right now we have been very busy with jet ski hire and seakart hire too and I guess when people can have fun like this out on the waters of Hervey Bay it’s no surprise that we’re busy.

We did think that things would quieten down a little after the school holidays but not this year. This year we’ve seen no real drop off in patronage and now we’re at the point where it will just go on getting busier. Whale season has started and the number of no vacancy signs going up along The Esplanade is on the increase.

Next weekend is the start of the Hervey Bay Whale Festival and Aquavue is proud to be a support sponsor of the festival this year. There’s a packed programme that will run right throughout the Festival and you can find out more about it here.
