While two of the regular whale watching vessels have moved on to other things there are still plenty of big whales out in Hervey Bay and some of them have come a lot closer in than ever before.
On Saturday I was taking a jet ski tour over to Fraser Island and spotted a large whale out in the main channel off Shelley Beach and the furthest whales usually come into the bay is about Point Vernon.
The whale watching vessels that are still operating this season all suggest that they could be hard at work right though into early November so if you’re thinking of coming to Hervey Bay to see the whales then there’s still time this season and we can book you on the best cruises.
One of the most popular cruises that we can book you on is That’s Awesome and a ride in this vessel really is awesome … with 1200 HP to push it along this boat really moves.
You may not think that dropping into the best beachfront cafe in Hervey Bay could be all that exciting. After all, most people walk in from the street or come up from the beach and there’s nothing all that exciting about that now is there?
Well last week one young lady decided that when she dropped into Aquavue for a coffee she really did want to drop in … from 14,000 feet.
With a whoop of excitement she came in over the tables … catching a few customers by surprise … and landed on the beach right in front of the cafe.
If you want a little excitement in your day then give us a call … we can book your sky diving visit to Aquavue so you can add that dash of adrenalin to one of our great coffees.
What a great day it was here in Hervey Bay yesterday – plenty of sunshine and nice calm waters definitely made the beach the place to be. The jet ski hire was popular and so was something else that we offer here at Aquavue.
I just realised that when I talk about life here at Aquavue I often illustrate it with photos taken on the beach side of the cafe so today I thought I’d show you the other side of Aquavue. It’s another early morning shot with the sun coming through the trees.
There’s something about the sunlight and the gum trees that I like. Palm trees are fine but when I think of Australia the gum trees are always there linked in my thoughts.
That shot also shows that something else that’s very popular here at Aquavue … the bikes. If you don’t want to get your feet wet then taking one of our family bikes for a spin along the 17km of bike track that runs along behind the beach is a great way to have fun.
It seems that a lot of people agree with me because those bikes are very popular.
Spring has definitely arrived here in Hervey Bay and the temperature is rising. Last Sunday was an absolutely amazing day with lots of people enjoying our great meals and coffee in the cafe and plenty of people out on the water too in our kayaks and jet skis.
This coming weekend looks like being more of the same so if you want to get out and have a great time here in Hervey Bay Aquavue Cafe Watersports is definitely the place to come.
Mornings in particular are magical here and even though the cafe isn’t open when the sun is coming up you the deck is open to anyone who wants see a sunrise like this one. That’s Fraser Island on the horizon.
Well we’ve had a couple of days of not so nice weather here in Hervey Bay but the weekend is ahead of us and the forecast is a little more promising so it’s time to get out and have some fun on the water.
Last time I showed you some video of the fun you could have with our jet ski hire and this time I want to show you a short video of the fun you can have on the Banana from Aquavue Cafe Watersports. All safety gear is provided and the tow vessel is manned by experienced staff from Aquavue so you’ll be quite safe and you’ll have a lot of fun too.
With the weather warming up here in Hervey Bay we’re reaching the stage where there’s going to be a lot more interest in the jet ski hire side of our business here at Aquavue. Our jet ski hire is really very popular but we do get some people who wonder just what they can do with out jet skis.
Well firstly let me say that if you hire a jet ski from us you will be required to operate within a set area. While no marine licence is required you will receive all the instructions you need to safely operate on of our jet skis. As part of those instructions you will be shown the area where you can play and once you reach that designated area then you can get out and tear up the water just like these two are doing.
It’s all about having all the fun you can handle when you hire a jet ski from us here at Aquavue in Hervey Bay
Yes folks the whale watching season in Hervey Bay has started and it definitely promises to be a bumper season this year. There have been whales up at the north end of the Bay for several weeks now and this young whale was one of the first to be spotted.
Like any youngster it wanted to play and when the crew on Whalesong approached caught this photo it was playing with a pod of dolphins.
Here at Aquavue whale season is always a big time for bookings so if you want some guidance on which of the many Hervey Bay whale cruises suits you best come in and talk to Kylie or me and we can get you onto the next available cruise.
Here in Hervey Bay we’re at the start of what promises to be one of the whale watching seasons ever and the whales are already out there. I spotted a couple last week when I was up at the north end of the bay.
But whales aren’t the only marine creatures that you’ll see out in Hervey Bay. On the same trip I caught this dolphin having fun right beside the boat.
You don’t always have to go out into the bay to see these wonderful creatures either. On several mornings last week large dolphins were spotted swimming just 50 metres off the beach right in front of the cafe. So come down for an early cuppa or breakfast at Aquavue and you never know what might pop up out there in the water.
… or how to show you’re a real man at 14,000 feet.
Last week Ben, one of regular crew members here at Aquavue turned 21 and he was looking at that milestone as the point in his life where he became a real man. So we decided that perhaps it was time to put him to the acid test and see whether he had what it takes to step out of plane at 14,000 feet and go skydiving over Hervey Bay.
To Ben’s great relief … and to the delight of the crowd that gathered at Aquavue to see him land … Ben made a perfect landing right in front of the cafe … looking only slightly more white than his tshirt.
Now that wasn’t so bad was it Ben?
If you’d like the biggest adrenaline rush you’ve ever had then come in to Aquavue and book your skydiving adventure. It will be something that you’ll never forget!
