Yes folks the whale watching season in Hervey Bay has started and it definitely promises to be a bumper season this year. There have been whales up at the north end of the Bay for several weeks now and this young whale was one of the first to be spotted.
Like any youngster it wanted to play and when the crew on Whalesong approached caught this photo it was playing with a pod of dolphins.

Here at Aquavue whale season is always a big time for bookings so if you want some guidance on which of the many Hervey Bay whale cruises suits you best come in and talk to Kylie or me and we can get you onto the next available cruise.

Here in Hervey Bay we’re at the start of what promises to be one of the whale watching seasons ever and the whales are already out there. I spotted a couple last week when I was up at the north end of the bay.
But whales aren’t the only marine creatures that you’ll see out in Hervey Bay. On the same trip I caught this dolphin having fun right beside the boat.

You don’t always have to go out into the bay to see these wonderful creatures either. On several mornings last week large dolphins were spotted swimming just 50 metres off the beach right in front of the cafe. So come down for an early cuppa or breakfast at Aquavue and you never know what might pop up out there in the water.

… or how to show you’re a real man at 14,000 feet.
Last week Ben, one of regular crew members here at Aquavue turned 21 and he was looking at that milestone as the point in his life where he became a real man. So we decided that perhaps it was time to put him to the acid test and see whether he had what it takes to step out of plane at 14,000 feet and go skydiving over Hervey Bay.

To Ben’s great relief … and to the delight of the crowd that gathered at Aquavue to see him land … Ben made a perfect landing right in front of the cafe … looking only slightly more white than his tshirt.

Now that wasn’t so bad was it Ben?
If you’d like the biggest adrenaline rush you’ve ever had then come in to Aquavue and book your skydiving adventure. It will be something that you’ll never forget!

Soemtimes a little rain is good although it’s not so good when it rains during the school holidays here in Hervey Bay. However better weather is forecast for tomorrow and we’ll certainly be ready for it and lots of people will want to be sitting out on the deck enjoying a little bit of sunshine.
This was the view driving down Boat Harbour Drive early this morning.

By the way, we’ve got a new blend of coffee here at Aquavue so why not come down tomorrow and try a cup. Some of our hardcore coffee drinking regulars have given it a big thumbs up.

It’s Friday morning and some people here in Hervey Bay are already in wind-down mode for the weekend. I can see our web designers sitting out there on the deck enjoying a coffee, the view and the sun as I write this.
And with a view like this and the beautiful winter weather that we’re enjoying right now who wouldn’t want to be out there escaping from the daily grind.
The sun is shining, the birds are singing and there are a couple of dolphins fishing just off the beach … what more could you ask for?
So come up to Hervey Bay and see why the locals think that this really is the best place to live and experience first hand why so many of them think that we’re the best cafe in Hervey Bay too.

Hervey Bay is well-known for it’s abundant wildlife and, because we’re right on the beachfront here in Hervey Bay, guests at our cafe here at Aquavue can often enjoy their coffee or meals and watch dolphins, dugongs, manta rays and even the occasional turtle out in the bay.
There’s plenty of birds around to entertain our guests to and it’s not uncommon to see several Osprey soaring over the bay or diving for fish. Some of the birds can come quite close to you too but usually the Osprey tend to keep their distance … but not this one.
This Osprey decided that he’d like to spend some time enjoying the view from our cafe too and when I snapped this picture he was sitting on the railing just soaking up the scenery
So why not come down and enjoy the best coffee from the best Hervey Bay cafe … and the best view too … we can’t promise that the Osprey will ever come this close again but you never know.

It’s hard to believe that June is about to start … where have the last six months gone?
But the calendar tells me that I’m not mistaken and looking back over the last few months I can see that it’s gone in a blur of steady work. In some ways the terrible weather here in Hervey Bay over the last few days have been a bit of a blessing in disguise because we’ve all been able to take a bit of a break.
That’s been good because I can see the weeks ahead being quite busy for both the cafe and the beach crew. Even though we are plunging right into winter the temptation of having a coffee or even lunch out in the sun on the deck here at Aquavue is just just too hard to resist.
So if you’re here in Hervey Bay and just need to escape from the hustle and bustle of the town then come on down to the cafe here at Aquavue and enjoy some time sitting in the sun, enjoying a great coffee or meal and soaking up the beauty that’s out there in the bay.

While other tourist operators here in Hervey Bay have been reporting a very quiet period it seems to have been a bit different for us here at Aquavue. We’ve still been seeing great numbers in the cafe and people are still interested in taking one of our jet ski tours over to Fraser Island.
We even had the opportunity to take a travel writer and photographer from the Brisbane Times over to Fraser Island for a look at parts of the island that other tours can’t reach. You can find the article on line right here – and the author, Sam de Brito, certainly seems to have had a great time on Fraser Island … although his photographer didn’t fare so well

I finally decided that it was time to put the Aquavue Cafewatersports menu on line and, thanks to the guys at Total Website Management who manage the website for me, now it’s available for all to see.
Follow the links to the Aquavue beverage and snack menu, the Aquavue breakfast menu and the Aquavue lunch menu. The menu is full of great value meals and the view comes free.
