Do I need to know how to swim?
You do not need to know how to swim. We have life jackets available which are provided on kayak hire and optional on stand up paddle board hire. If you fall into the water you will be very close to your board or kayak making it quick and easy to climb back on.
are there any age restrictions?
Whilst we don't have an age restriction on the equipment itself, all underage hirers (under 18 years) must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) who can sign a liability waiver, ensure the minors remain safe and the equipment remains undamaged. Children of all ages are the responsibility of the signing adult.
Will I get wet?
Yes, unless you're a seasoned pro on a paddle board. Our kayaks are open and do take in water.
are there any height or weight restrictions for sups or kayaks?
Whilst there are no restrictions on height and weight, these factors may determine your balancing ability, particularly on a stand up paddle board.
Do i need to be physically fit?
We recommend having a reasonable level of fitness to participate in any activity. You will be required to drag or carry your own equipment to and from the water. For the bikes, this can be quite physically exhausting, particularly in the heat!
do you give us a demonstration or lesson beforehand?
Our staff will give you a thorough safety briefing and some basic tips to make your hire easier, however all hires are 'Dry Hires' meaning there is no lesson provided.
